As manufacturers continue to seek more efficient ways to improve product performance and streamline assembly, engineered adhesive components are becoming an increasingly important part of product design. At Adhesives & Bonding Expo and Foam Expo North America, CFS showcased how specialized converting can transform flexible materials into precision-engineered components for a wide range of applications.
The event brought together professionals from across the adhesives, foam, and converting industries to explore new materials, manufacturing technologies, and application challenges. Discussions focused on improving reliability, reducing assembly challenges, and selecting materials that meet increasingly demanding performance requirements.
Adhesive-backed components continue to play a key role in product design by supporting applications such as sealing, insulation, vibration control, thermal management, and surface protection. These engineered solutions can also help manufacturers replace traditional fastening methods while improving efficiency and consistency during assembly.
At the CFS booth, visitors saw numerous examples of custom converting, along with samples of custom die cutting (adhesive-backed foams, films, and flexible substrates) for industries such as automotive, electronics, lighting, medical, and industrial manufacturing.
Beyond the products and technologies showcased, the event provided a valuable opportunity to connect with industry partners, meet new contacts, and better understand the challenges engineering and production teams are addressing today.
